Swaradhyay 8th Edition- 31st March 2024

The first part of this magical musical evening would see the extremely talented Shri Bhaggesh Marathe perform his Vocal recital accompanied by the brilliant Shri Shambhunath Bhattacharjee Ji on Tabla and Shri Sumit Mishra Ji on Harmonium
The second part would witness the sheer brilliance of Shri Pratik Shrivastava Ji on Sarod who would be accompanied on the Tabla by Shri Yashwant Vaishnav Ji.

The evening of 19th December 2021, was filled with magic, serenity and all things beautiful, and those present for the baithak bore witness to the mesmerising performances by our amazingly talented artists. The Rasa Siddhi family would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who made it possible for us to organise the baithak and make it this huge a success. We are immensely grateful to all the artists, starting with Shri Gagandeep Hothi Ji, who enthralled the audience with his phenomenal Sitar recital- performing Raga Yaman Kalyan, leaving everyone spellbound. Shri Gagandeep Ji was accompanied on the Tabla by the exceptionally talented Shri Durjay Bhaumik Ji. For the second part of the evening, the audiences were mesmerised with scintillating vocal recital by the incredible Shri Bhuvanesh Komkali Ji, wherein he sung Raag Kaunsi, followed by Raag Manj Khamaj and Raag Bhairavi. Shri Bhuvanesh Komkali Ji was accompanied by the ever so talented Shri Shambhunath Bhattacharjee Ji on the Tabla and the marvellous Shri Chetan Nigam Ji on the harmonium, together they enraptured the audience with their soulful rendition. We will forever be indebted to those of you who took time out of your schedules to come support of us and be a part of this classical baithak experience we curated for you. With all of your blessings we were able to wrap up this year in an exceptional manner. Once again we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our family, we hope to only strengthen this bond over time. Swaradhyay espouses this celebration of art in a baithak presentation, where both the artist and the audiences, participate in an intimate emotional exchange and interact on a common platform. Such a tradition, away from the current culture of stage performances in auditoriums, adds a personal touch to the participants’ experiences and is exactly what Swaradhyay endeavours to bring to life.

The audiences were enthralled by the phenomenal sitar recital by the incredible Adnan Khan who performed Raga Shudh Kalyan and Raga Hamir and concluded the evening with the famous dhun “Anar Anar”, leaving everyone spellbound. Adnan was accompanied on the tabla by the exceptionally outstanding young master Yashwant Vaishnav We will forever be indebted to those of you who took time out of your schedules to come support of us and be a part of this classical baithak experience we curated for you. This 8th edition of Swaradhyay (a Baithak series organised by Rasasiddhi ) presented the incredible Shri Bhaggesh Marathe Ji on Vocal, marking the first performance of the evening of 31st March 2024. He was accompanied on the Tabla by Shri Shambhu Nath Bhattacharjee Ji and on the Harmonium by Shri Sumit Mishra Ji organised by Rasasiddhi Venue- The Pink Lotus Academia Audio Credit - Devmitra Thakur Video Credit - Aishwary Bajpai • Bhagyesh Marathe, born into a rich musical family and has been lucky to be a grandson of the legendary Indian classical vocalist Sangeet Bhushan Pt. Ram Marathe. Bhagyesh started taking initial training at the age of 20 from his father Pt. Sanjay Marathe and further mastered his talent and took training from Pt. Kedar Bodas at Dr. Gangubai Hangal Gurukul in Hubli Karnataka. He was fortunate to receive talim of Gwalior, Agra, Jaipur and Bhendi Bazaar gharana from Bodasji. •Bhagyesh has won many scholarships and awards to name a few are •Bhagyesh has received the most Prestigious citi-ncpa keserbai kerkar scholarship for the year 2016-2017. • Pt. The 8th edition of Swaradhyay, a Baithak series organised by Rasasiddhi, featured the remarkable Shri Pratik Shrivastava Ji on Sarod, accompanied by Shri Yashwant Vaishnav Ji on Tabla. This marked the second performance of the evening on March 31, 2024. Venue - The Pink Lotus Academia. PRATIK SHRIVASTAVA Pratik was initiated in to the art of playing the Sarod at the age of six by his grandfather Pandit Rabi Chakraborty, himself an eminent Sarod player of the “Maihar Gharana”, and nurtured the art form under the tutelage of his uncle Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty ever since. Pratik has also received guidance from Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. ● Scholarship at Anun Lund Rej Memorial Foundation1999, Norway. ● National scholarship by Govt. of India Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, 2007. ● Jnana Pravaha Foundation scholarship, 2013. Pratik began his journey as a performing artist at the age of 12 and since then has been presenting his art at various prestigious Classical music festivals in India and abroad such as Darbar Festival (London), Swar Samrat Festival (Kolkata), Gandharva Mahavidyalay (Delhi) and many more. Pratik’s participation in various contemporary fusion music projects and film scores reflects his versatility and an unique approach towards different genres of music. He has had the privilege of working and performing with legendary musicians and composers like Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Anoushka Shankar, A.R. Rahman, Shantanu Moitra and Arijit Singh among others. His recent collaboration with phenomenal Indo-German Pianist Jarry Singla has paved the way for numerous performances at several prestigious Jazz music events around Europe. Pratik’s talent and achievements are a reflection of his hard work and unadulterated guidance from his family and teachers. YASHWANT VAISHNAV: Widely hailed as a Tabla prodigy, Master Yashwant Vaishnav was born to Shri Rajendra Vaishnav and Smt Bhagawati Vaishnav in 1993. His initial training began with his father from where he went on to learn from Shri Hemant Sachdev. To further his learning he came under the tutelage of internationally acclaimed tabla artist Pandit Mukund Bhale. He had the fortune to study under Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Currently he is a disciple of legendary Tabla Maestro Pandit Yogesh Samsi. Yashwant’s Tabla playing is marked with clarity and a crisp tonality which stays uncompromised at high octane speeds as well. His creative approach to rhythmic distribution and progression is a treat to listen to in his riveting solos. His approach accompaniment on the other hand is subtle, supportive and supplementary. Yashwant takes a keen interest in collaborating with different forms of music and is influenced by different genres and assimilates all of this in his playing.
